Aloha from the Captian
It is a great pleasure for me to announce my new position as Captain of the Kona charter boat Sundowner. Following in the footsteps of my good friends Norm and Darrin Isaacs, I am honored to have the opportunity to share the Kona experience aboard the legendary 35' Bertram. My name is Erik Rusnak and I am happy to extend this formal invitation to all those who share a passion for the ocean and its many varieties of marine life. Hawaii is one of those rare places where sea monsters still exist and world records can still be broken.
Growing up in Hawaii, the ocean is the playground. Children flourish swimming, surfing and fishing in the local waters. This was my experience of childhood in the islands and it's a strong part of me today. It has been my good fortune in life to have a career in the world of sportfishing. With eighteen years as a licensed charter boat captain and over twenty-five years of fishing in Hawaii and around the world, please let me introduce you to the exciting world of offshore fishing. My greatest pleasure is being able to share the excitement and natural wonder of the Hawaiian offshore fishing experience with others.
My travels as a professional fisherman have taken me around the world. From Australia's Great Barrier Reef to the Islands of the Caribbean. I've fished in Mexico, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Panama, St. Thomas, Antigua, and the Bahamas. All of these incredible fishing adventures were the stepping stones that have now brought me home to Hawaii. I am pleased to be back in the productive waters of the Kona coast. Come join me in my search for big fish in some of the most beautiful waters in the world.
Best Wishes and Aloha,
Capt. Erik Rusnak
